Gary is the founder of Joyal Capital Management, LLC and has been a trusted advisor to clients and a leader in the financial marketplace for nearly 30 years. The firm provides estate planning and business services and under Gary's leadership has grown to provide a wide range of specialist services and an exceptional client service experience. Gary also founded Joyal Capital Management Foundation, Inc., which has helped thousands of children nationally through its "$100 for 100" interactive giving program. Gary began his career at MetLife State Street, and for more than 20 years has been affiliated with Guardian Life Insurance Company of America where he has served as President of the Executive Committee.
Richard has nearly 30 years of financial and corporate operations experience. Upon joining the firm, he launched the Private Client Group and real estate development practice areas and works directly with clients helping them accomplish their financial goals.
Prior to joining Joyal Capital Management, Richard was a senior member of the operations team at Commonwealth Energy System, now part of Eversource, and co-founded telecommunications company, Seacoast Tower Development, LLC.
Richard holds a Master's degree in Business from Western New England College, and Bachelor's and Associate's degrees in Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Rob leads the firm's life insurance processing division and business operations, as well as the development of advanced planning strategies, case development, business development and implementation of new insurance industry standards.
He began his career with BISYS Insurance Services, and as a Senior Underwriter, he provided expertise in life insurance marketing and medical insurance underwriting to the company's agents. Rob was the Relationship Manager to some of the most successful insurance agents serving the New England area.
Rob earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University.
Dan leads business development for the firm’s franchise development subsidiary. He was instrumental in the completion of more than 100 client consulting engagements, producing over $500 million in restaurant M&A related closings and $400 million of debt financing for the firm’s clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Dan held leadership positions on the business development and franchising teams at Dunkin' Brands, facilitating purchase and sales activity of Dunkin' restaurants in New England and upstate New York. Dan began his career in the audit and consulting divisions of Ernst & Young.
Dan is a former CPA and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Babson College and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.
Matthew joined JCM in October of 2016 as Managing Director. With a strong background in managing alternative investments, he is charged with leading the formation of the Fund Management Company. Before assuming his current role, Matthew was President of Man FRM in New York. Prior to his role at Man FRM, Matthew was a Managing Member and President at Pine Grove Asset Management (now operating as Pine Grove Funds under the FRM business). Before joining Pine Grove in 2010, Matthew was CEO at Union Bancaire Privee Asset Management for two years, having spent six years prior to that leading the firm’s marketing and business development efforts.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Economics from the University of Delaware.
Susan leads the banking and debt placement for JCM Finance, LLC. She is responsible for the management and thought leadership of the firm’s finance company. Susan oversees the credit and underwriting process for JCM clients from initiation to closing, and additionally reviews new banking clients within the Private Client Group Wealth Management System.
Prior to joining the firm, Susan was a Financial Consultant, not only providing personal investment advice, but also consulting with various start-up and small companies. She owned and operated an S-Corp for eight years. Susan began her career as a Corporate Finance Instructor at Syracuse University. She continued to tutor financial and accounting professionals due to a strong thirst for financial education. She also continues to volunteer her time encouraging youth to pursue careers and education in quantitative disciplines.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University and an MS in Finance from Syracuse University.
From client management to managing the Joyal Capital Foundation, Renee Raymond executes on all aspects of JCM day-to-day operations. Renee serves as the Director of Strategic Planning, playing a critical role on the $100 FOR 100 Foundation, special events and operations, as well as managing the Marina at American Wharf and other various acquisitions.
Prior to joining the firm, Renee served as a Program Manager at EMC Corporation reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, Commercial Sales. In this role, she supported and managed cross-functional teams of subject matter experts who plan and implement internal business projects from the design process through completion. Renee was responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy and sales training materials for all sales representatives across the United States.
Renee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Framingham State University.
Natasha supports the unique needs of high net worth families that require sophisticated estate, business and financial planning. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker Associate with Compass Realty and is a consulting resource for Joyal clients in the areas of real state acquisitions, divestitures and the stabilization of distresses assets.
Prior to joining the firm, Natasha worked as a Property Manager at Pride Homes, managing over 220 rental apartments and 120,000 sq ft of commercial retail space. She serves as executive chair of the HYPE Committee within The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and supports Project Medishare for Haiti and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Natasha holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management from Loyola University New Orleans.
Jack, as Director of the Private Client Group Southeast, works with potential clients in the areas of financing and estate planning. Prior to joining JCM, Jack was deeply involved in the Dunkin’ Donuts system for twenty-two years, seventeen of them at the Dunkin’ Donuts Southeast DCP. Beginning in customer service, Jack moved to accounting where he later became Controller, and ultimately, in his last six years at the DCP, he served as Vice President/General Manager, reporting to the Board of Directors. Jack's responsibilities included ensuring timely deliveries across eight states, working closely with franchisees throughout the southeast, maintaining a profitable bottom line and encouraging steady growth.
Most recently, Jack held a Controller position for an Atlanta meat processing and food distributor with annual revenues of $35 million.
Jack holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Becky joined Joyal Capital Management in May of 2007. Reporting to the CFO, Becky is responsible for overseeing the firm's accounts payable and receivable functions, as well as the day to day finance transactions for the firm. Becky manages and forecasts organizational cash flow and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management’s review.
In addition to her financial responsibilities, Becky also oversees all state licensing, company appointments and continuing education requirements for all agents of the firm. Becky is also an integral part of the firm's real estate operation, managing collections, expenses, projections and tenancy in concert with the property management team for the firm’s residential and commercial property holdings.
Becky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Boston College.
Deb has overall responsibility for new estate planning client engagements. She also leads estate analysis, asset re-titling and building client medical files for the underwriting approval process. She also leads the protocol for managing patient medical records securely and confidentially as mandated at the firm. Deb began her tenure with the firm as an Executive Administrator, facilitating important administrative duties while managing underwriting processes. Prior to joining the firm, Deb was the Office Manager and Assistant to Accounts Receivable for Mija Industries.
Deb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College.
Chris brings over a decade of brand-building experience to his role as Manager of Brand Design for Joyal Capital Management. He oversees and implements all marketing communications for JCM and its subsidiaries which include real estate, investments, smartphone applications and philanthropy.
With an international clientele including Philips, Bayer, HP/Compaq, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Sun Life Financial, Monster.com, MIT Sloan and Harvard University, Chris’s work has been published in Corporate Identity U.S.A., and recognized by the American Business Awards among others.
In addition, Chris has served as an Associate Professor at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design, not only teaching classes in brand design and corporate identity, but contributing to the curriculum of the program.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design from The Art Institute of Boston/Lesley University.
Jeff is involved in all facets of the firm's franchise development division, with a particular focus on restaurant mergers & acquisitions, business valuations and debt placement. He works closely with affiliated advisory relationships throughout the transaction process and is a primary contact for potential buyers, coordinating the flow of information from initial bid, to transaction close. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was an Audit Analyst with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., compiling and recording audit packages for external auditors and financial reporting purposes.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Patty conducts personal and estate analysis, development of sales illustrations, and management of title and legal documentation. She also prepares diligence reports, annual reviews and executes on client requests.
Prior to joining the firm, Patty rose to the position of Branch Manager at Plymouth Five Cents Savings Bank, overseeing a $92 million retail branch and managing staff, client service, budgeting and the branch's sales program. She began her career working at the Plymouth Registry of Deeds-Land Court, assisting customers and sourcing relevant real estate documentation.
Patty holds a certificate in Business Education from Chandler School for Women.
Stefanie’s responsibilities revolve around our Client Relations and Private Client Group platform. She conducts personal and estate analysis, new client engagements, as well as annual reviews and maintains client accounts. She also serves as a point of contact for clients and executes requests accordingly.
Originally from Germany, Stefanie made her way to JCM after working as an Administrative and Marketing Assistant. Her background circles in client relations and foreign business communication.
Stefanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, an Associates of Arts in English, and she is a certified foreign language correspondence clerk in English, German, and French.
Devin is involved in many aspects of the firm’s franchise development division. His focus is working with the Senior Analyst closely on restaurant mergers & acquisitions, business valuations, and debt placement. He also assists throughout the transaction process and is a secondary contact for potential buyers, to help coordinate flow of information from the initial bid, to transaction close.
Prior to working for JCM, Devin was an Administrative Assistant to the Regional Manager of Asplundh Tree Experts Co. for Massachusetts and Vermont. There he worked closely with the Regional Manager reviewing company analytics. He also created reports for injury and vehicle incidents.
Devin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics from Saint Anselm College.
Heidi joined Joyal Capital Management in June 2017. Heidi primarily assists our advisors and Director of Operations in the coordination, development, and integration of new business, but also supports the administrative duties of the office. She is responsible for the management of client records, database maintenance, and serves as a comprehensive assistant to office personnel.
Heidi has two certificates in Computer Information Technology. She is currently attending Cape Cod Community College working towards a degree in Computer Science. Heidi has worked as a Legal Secretary for a real estate firm and has a background as a Reservation Specialist for a luxury resort/hotel/time share corporation.
Diana joined Joyal Capital Management in June of 2015. Her role is to support the CEO by prioritizing his time and overseeing day-to-day duties. She manages every aspect of the CEO’s professional and personal schedules, maintains the corporate calendar, arranges meetings and special events, and coordinates travel. Diana also acts as liaison and point of contact between the CEO and vendors, service providers, staff and joint venture partners. Diana ensures the highest level of services to JCM staff, family, friends and guests.
Prior to joining JCM, Diana was the Executive Assistant to the President of a life insurance brokerage firm and premium finance company. She has also served as an Executive/Personal Assistant to high profile families in the Palm Beach area.
Alison joined Joyal Capital Management as Assistant Controller in November of 2014. Alison assists and supports the firm’s Controller and CFO with accounts payable and receivable functions, as well as day-to-day transactions for all entities.
Alison assists with operational requests from all the firm’s subsidiaries, and as it relates to the firm’s real estate holdings, acts as a liaison between the property management team and service providers. Alison is also responsible for all new hire documents, benefits and payroll.
Prior to joining JCM, Alison was a Bookkeeper for Plymouth Bay Corporation where she handled all the accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
Alison holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
Ashley joined Joyal Capital Management in March of 2016 and assists the firm’s Controller and Assistant Controller with accounts payable and receivable functions for all of the firm’s entities and subsidiaries. Ashley also researches and resolves all vendor billing issues, monitors monthly office expenditures, and helps implement pricing efficiencies. In addition, she maintains data entry for the accounting team’s paperless filing system.
Prior to joining JCM, Ashley was an Administrative Assistant for a privately owned family business. There, she handled all accounts payable, accounts receivable, client relations and other administrative duties.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Mike joined Joyal Capital Management in May of 2006 as The Marina at American Wharf Manager. He started with the Marina as a dockhand, then a supervisor, during summers while he was in college. Mike’s core responsibilities include managing the logistics of seasonal and transient boat traffic, maintaining compliance with marine regulations, property care and maintenance, acting as liaison to local agencies and individuals, training and supervising Marina staff, client service and marketing support. A native of Norwich, Mike grew up in nearby Salem, CT and spent time in California before coming back to Norwich to assume his role as Marina Manager.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College.
Jason joined Joyal Capital Management in March of 2006 as the Joyal Capital Management Property Manager, tending to the needs of the company’s various real estate properties. He served as the project manager for the extensive renovations at The Marina at American Wharf, which opened in Spring of 2012. He is a licensed Construction Supervisor with a construction business background.
Prior to JCM, Jason ran his own home improvement business. A native of the Marshfield/Duxbury area of Massachusetts, he has lived in Carver, MA since 1985.
Jason holds a degree from the New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island.
